About (& stuff)

My name is Jennifer Roberts Bittner. Life with my family is definitely “Not Boring.” My hope is to always learn something new through all the twists and turns of this journey as we laugh, love, work, and play.

I talk a LOT and I think even more (it’s exhausting), and sometimes I am lucky enough to be able to place those thoughts into a semi-coherent series of paragraphs. I am a lifelong geeky fangirl of sci-fi and superhero flicks, and a relatively new Whovian. I don’t like most comedies because when people get into uncomfortable situations I can’t bear to watch. I am a wife, mother of two boys, and I hope to leave this world a little better than it was when I arrived. Autism is a part of our life. So is Minecraft, Lego, and coffee. LOTS of coffee (for me, not for them). I also make sure I never go anywhere without a tube of lip balm.

This blog is where I talk about our varied experiences; full of awe & angst, ranting & rejoicing. It is a celebration of that which makes life unique, & a quest to find meaning and even humor in the midst of the “Not Boring” (when I’m not too tired to find my funny-bone). Here you will find information, maybe some inspiration, and a lot of support. This is a place for Autism acceptance, special needs & disability advocacy, and so much more.

If you want to get a better idea of what we are about you can click here to read a list with links to Top Autism-related posts from Seriously Not Boring.

The above picture is our Autism Ninja, and he is blue because my son’s favorite color is blue. He is also a superhero of uniqueness, fighting against ignorance and unkindness to help make the world a more accepting place. Because different is COOL, you guys (just like bow ties).

If you want to keep the Not Boring party going you can check us out on Facebook at Seriously Not Boring. Come share the stories that inspire you!

And if you’re feeling really adventurous you can follow Jennifer Bittner on Twitter: https://twitter.com/SrslyNotBoring

Finally, here is our Sea Lion Shadow” video on YouTube. When the littlest Ninja was 7 he had a REALLY enthusiastic response to an unexpected game of follow-the-leader with a sea lion. It was the “best thing of his life!” He says so himself. Watching his joy, and the level of connection and acceptance he felt in that moment, was one of the most moving experiences of my life. The video ended up helping spread a message of Autism Acceptance, which was even more awesome.

So anyway, thank you for stopping by and reading. We would love it if you would comment and tell us more about yourself :). And remember, keep it Not Boring. Seriously.

    Hey Jennifer!

I was wondering if you would be willing to help me out with something. Recently, you liked my post, “How to Know You’re Enough!” …on my blog, begintobelieve.com.

It really seemed to resonate with a lot of women; I guess we can all relate to the overwhelming-ness of being female in todays’ society.

Well anyway, back to the favor I was asking.

Because this post resonated with so many, I’ve decide to write an ebook entitled “How to Know You’re Enough!” – The Manual- The Female Edition.

It will be a comprehensive, funny and honest list of everything we do, every day, for everyone, more or less!

Would you be interested in making your list of everything you do, every day, for everyone, more or less, to possibly be included in the book? And If I use any “unique” items on your list, I will include your name as a contributor to the book!

Your list can be anything that takes you time, mind and effort!

So if you’re interested and have questions, you can contact me at rdavis4848@gmail.com or you can just send over your list to the same email address along with your full name and email.

And if you know any other wonderful females that might like to be a part of this event, please feel free to pass it along!

I know you have a lot on your list, so I really appreciate you taking the time. Thanks so much for considering it!
